Dear Mr. Skovholt:

/

In response to your letter of September 12, 1972, requesting additional information on Main Steam and Pressurizer Safety Valve

/

Supports, we herewith submit forty (40) co'liies~ o~f a supplementary report:

"RG&E - Pressurizer Safety Valve Discharge Piping Time

/ ', j History Dynamic Analysis" dated March 15, 1973.

rp The attached report supplements our previous report on Pressurizer by' i Safety Valves submitted on June 19, 1972. This report provides specific g/

information requested in your letter of September 12, 1972 and also

~ 'n questions raised on the pressurizer safety valve analysis at the meet-C.b k.

ing at your office on November 27, 1972.

A list of these questions and the answers is tabulated in the report.

Furthermore, at your

[

request we have included a combined Stress Table showing the thermal, dead weight, prersure, thrust, and seismic stresses at all node points representing elbows and straight runs in the safety valve discharge piping. A review of the analysis shcws that the stress levels in the pressurizer safety valve, Class 1 and Class 2 piping systems are within the allowable design requirements of USAS 831.1.

y truly yours,;
