P i i.o t valve travel adjustments were reviewed and correct settings of 3/16" to 7/j2" as cade ca 11/14-1d/70 outage were verified correct.

The operating linkage l

clearance was checLed ca 11/1/-13/70 so that the linkage and pilots were all f ree to rove the full pilot travel. Also on 11/14-18/70 the guide post wear was checked.

j 2.

A new soleaoid kit was installed to correct the solenoid guide post wear pro-e u lc.ma reported in our letter of October 9, 1970.

The hit replaces the hollow r,u id e Eoat with u solid utt.inless steel post.

The solenoid armature guide pla h j

is replacea uitn one having bronac bushings about 1/2" loni; to eliminate wear on the guide poJt.

'lue cottec pins which previously existed to retain the arcature Luida plate have been climinaced.

The strike roller which actuates the pilot l

valve. ope ra ting leve. nou also acts as the upper limit stop for the araature.

3.

.. au n ch v.hica ee-ene rt;ine s the armature closing coil at the full extended poa-itiva ua; found on the "C" valve to occasionally stick in its de-energizing posi-l

"'ua t;hich could have caused a calfunction.

Clearances were increased to avoid tais possibility on all valve pilot solenoids.

1 l

It is now causidered that appropriate corrections have been unde to elim-

'nate previuua problems Vaich.: ave been experienced and tha t the valves should

(

Le dependable for subsequent operation.

i All the valves will be functionally tested Juring startup to assure operab-

]

ility following the above noted maintenance on valve co:aponents.
