DiMeglio, R. I. Atomic Energy Commission to Stephen Long, Headquarters at about 7:40'a.m. on Monday April 16, 1984.
At about 7:10 a.m., April 16, 1984 a failure occurred in the long dis-tance telephone lines which carry the signals from our burglar alarm, police calls,"and supervisory system from the Science Center.to the continuously manned station of the R. I. Electric Protective Company in Providence. The phone lines between the Center in Narragansett and the Narragansett Police which transmit burglar alarm and police signals to the Narragansett Police were not affected.
The R. I. Electric Protective Company, using established procedures, no-tified the staff which had already begun to assemble at the Center for
-the normal working day. Therefore, manual observation of the monitored
' functions began at 7:25 a.m.
The phone lines were-restored by 1:10 p.m.
There were no consequences at the facility.
