Abnormal Occurrence 75-05: Failure'of the IC Safety Injection Pump to start manually from Bus 16 Ginna Station Docket #50-244
Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
This is to confirm my phone call to Mr. John Streeter this morning to report Abnormal occurrence #75-05 at Ginna Station.
While conducting Periodic Test PT-2.1 this morning, the IC Safety Injection Pump failed to start from Bus 16 when the control switch was manually activated in the Control Room. The control switch was immediately actuated again, and this time the pump started. The 1A and the IB Safety Injection Pumps were then tested satisfactorily.
Tha. PORC met and recommended further investigation of the breaker on Bus 16, and a thorough check of the Bus 14 - Bus 16 interlock scheme at the breaker on Bus 14 The IC Safety Injection Pump is to be started once a week from Bus 16 until the PORC changes the frequency of testing.
