APPbICANT'S REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF TIME

'TO FILE BRIEF IN OPPOSITION TO JOINT INTERVENORS* EXCEPTIONS Pursuant to 10 C.F.R. 52.711 and 52.730, Applicant hereby requests a two-week extension of time in which to file its brief in opposition to Juint Intervenors' exceptions in this proceeding.

Applicant's brief is presently due on March 11, If this request is granted, Applicant's brief would be due on March 25, 1983 and, pursuant to 10 C.F.R.

S2.762, the brief of 1983.

the NRC Staff would be due 10 days thereafter, on April 4, This extension is necessary because of the press of other business to which Applicant's counsel must attend, including a parallel schedule for proposed findings of fact and conclusions of law in the reopened hearings in this proceeding concerning the adequacy of the public information brochure for the Waterford 3 counsel are obligated to devote substan-facility.

In addition, tial amounts of time to three other NRC licensing proceedings and two cases before the U.S. Supreme Court during the same time period.

Accordingly, a two-week extension of time is necessary I

The requested-relief would not prejudice any other party, but would' affect the time for~ filing the NRC Staff's brief.
