NRC IE BULLETIN NO. 81-02 FAILURE OF GATE TYPE VALVES TO CLOSE AGAINST DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION In our July 10, 1981, reply to this Bulletin we stated that all vendors, including the NSSS supplier, have confirmed that no motor operated gate valves described in this Bulle-tin are used in safety-related applications at Hope Creek but that three suppliers had merely supplied a verbal response.
Written responses have now been received from all suppliers and are consistent with their previously reported verbal commitments.
A response to Supplement 1 to IE Bulletin 81-02 was made on December 1, 1982.
Our investigation of IE Bulletin 81-02 and Supplement 1 are now complete.
Should any further information be desired, we would be pleased to discuss it with you.
