Dear Mr. Collins:
SUBJECT:
Waterford SES Unit No. 3 Docket No. 50-382 Potentially Reportable Deficiency No. 153
" Boston Insulated Wire and Cable Company (BIWC), QA Program Deficiencies" Final Report On February 15, 1984, a problem with the subject Vendor's Quality Assurance Program was reported as PRD No. 153.
Further evaluation of the previously described condition indicates this condition is not considered reportable pursuant to 10CFR50.55(e).
EVALUATION Investigation into results of the audit conducted in January 1984 and a reaudit of BIWC in March 1984 identified the following:
The January 1984 audit was terminated early due to a blizzard being a.
imminent. No post audit conference was conducted for presentation of the auditors concerns due to a lack of availability of management personnel.
b.
A reaudit in March 1984 verified the Vendors' program to be satisfactory and B.I.W.C. was reinstated'on the Qualified Suppliers List.
Additionally, those concerns from the January 1984 audit were presented '
to BIWC management who were able to satisfactorily answer the concerns.

.y Mr. John T.-Collins April 5, 1984 W3K84-0817 Page 2 If the January 1984 audit had contained a post audit conference with BIWC management, the concerns would have been resolved at that time as verified by the March 1984 reaudit. Therefore, this item is considered not reportable.
