Docket No. 50-322-OL-4 (Low Power)

Dear Larry:

This will respond to the County's second discovery request received at approximately 5:45 p.m. yesterday and summarize the status of our effort to comply with both document requests as of this afternoon.

I understand that Doug Scheidt and the two para-Icgals accompanying him began their review of LILCO's documents at approximately 1:30 p.m. today and as of approximately 5:00 p.m. had completed whatever review they intended to undertake with the exception of those documents to be produced at Hicksville. Their review included the documents we had flown in from California as well as those we had transported from Melville to Shoreham for your convoience.

I further understand that rather than undertake a detailed review of the documents produced, your asso-ciate and the two paralegals elected to have virtually every document copied. LILCO has offered to have the documents copied on an expedited basis so that they will be available Monday upon your agreement to pay for all overtime and other related expenses in addition to copying costs and air courier charges, k 0 Z)Sc]

April 13, 1984 Page Two l I further understand that the County's lawyers do not intend to review any documents at the site or in Ilicksville over the weekend despite our offer to make them available.

LILCO is gathering those additional documents responsive to your second requests, subject to any that may be objectionable. There is considerable overlap in the County's two requests. Many of the documents responsive to the second requests were produced today in response to yesterday's first requests. Again, if you are willing to pay for all related expenses, LILCO will copy those documents over the weekend and have them available for you Monday morning in New York or, in the alternative, Federal Express them to Washington.

If you do not want to incur the expense of LILCO's copying these documents over the weekend, they will be available for your insucction Monday either at Shoreham or in liicksville if you return to !!icksville to inspect those documents available to you, but not reviewed, today.

Please let us know your preference.
