[External_Sender] Holtec Consolidated Interim Storage Hi NRC, I recommend leaving spent fissile refuse on the sites where it was used, e.g., reactors.

This avoids the financial costs, GHG emissions, and risks of:

repository siting, evaluation, EIS, and creation transportation of hazmat On each site, store refuse in steel canisters entombed in concrete. Ideally these are to be set on a concrete slab, preferably inside a building. The initial and ongoing costs of such are to be borne by the corporation which owned and used the reactor (not rate-paying customer or government). These require 24/7 security patrols and periodic site inspection and maintenance.

Because nuclear electricity has a cost/kW that is 2 to 4 times higher than renewable electricity, Life Cycle Analyses show that nuclear energy has significant GHG emissions, and the industry has declared that it is an inferior choice (in contrast to renewables) to meet the challenges of accelerating change; I recommend that no more permits for new reactors or renewals for existing reactors be issued.
