Dear Mr. Stolz:
This letter is being submitted to address the status of 10 CFR 61 Program Implementation at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station.
Initial analyses of various radioactive waste streams have been completed for the Davis-Besse Station. The results of these analyses have been used to generate scaling factors and supporting technical bases for 10 CFR 61 program implementation.
Gamma spectroscopy will be used to measure certain radionuclides to which these scaling factors will be applied to quantify those radionuclides not directly measured.
3 This information will extend to implementation of 10 CFR 61 program requirements for waste classification, stabilization, and manifest reporting.
We have critten draf t procedures for waste classification and manifest reporting.
We are prepared to implement these new procedures for radwaste shipments after December 27, 1983.
We will continue our efforts to refine the program in accordance with any new developments.
