Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
In a meeting with the NRC Materials Engineering Branch on August 31, 1983, PECo was requested to provide a summary report describing the qualification of GE's UT process for RPV inspection which would establish compliance with Regulatory Guide 1.150.
Enclosed is a copy of GE procedure LIM UT-1, Revision 1, Regulatory Guide 1.150 Method For Compliance. Demonstration of the compliance of UT equipment (both manual and remote automatic) and examination procedures with the requirements of Reg. Guide 1.150 is ongoing and will continue throughout the RPV preservice inspection. The qualification data obtained during these demonstrations is recorded in accordance with Sectica 7 of Reg. Guide 1.150 and will be included in the RPV preservice inspection final report which will be presented to the Commission in June 1984.
