Starostecki, Director Division of' Project and Resident Programs CORRECTIVE ACTION PROGRAM ITEM C.9.1 STAFFING OF NUCLEAR ASSURANCE AND REGULATION DEPARTMENT COMBINED INSPECTION REPORT 83-15 AND 83-12 SALEM GENERATING STATION NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 The subject inspection presented the results of the review and evaluation of the status of items from the Corrective Action Program.
In particular, Item 2.1 in Enclosure 2 to your November 9, 1983 letter concerns Order Item C.9.1, staffing of the Nuclear Assurance and Regulation Department.
PSE&G has reevaluated the Corporato Quality Assurance function and has made several changes, which we believe will enhance the effectiveness of the function and strengthen management's overview of the nuclear quality assurance programs.
In summary, the Corporate Ouality Assurance organization has been relocated from our Corporate Office in Newark to Artificial Island.
This nuclear quality program overview function now at Artificial Island is performed by the Manager - Corporate Quality Assurance and one senior staff member.
The Manager - Corporate Quality Assurance continues to report directly to the General Manager -
Nuclear Assurance and Regulation.
