Ladies and Gentlemen:

The NRC issued Supplement I to Bulletin 90-01 on December 22,1992. The Supplement

.j requested licensees to identify all Rosemount 1153B,1153D and 1154 transmitters manufactured before July 11,1989 installed in safety related systems or systems installed in accordance with the ATWS rule (10 CFR 50.62).

SNC responded to Supplement 1 on February 11,1993 and April 7,1993. In these i

responses, SNC identified the following transmitters that met the above criteria:

TPNS Function Model QlB21PT402' RCS Wide Range Pressure 1154GP9RA Q2B21PT402*

RCS Wide Range Pressure 1154GP9RA Q2B21PT403*

RCS Wide Range Pressure 1154GP9RA QIPl7LT3027C CCW Surge Tank Level 1154DP4RD QlPl7LT3027D CCW Surge TankLevel 1153DD4RG QlN23FF3229A*

Auxiliary Feedwater Flow 1154DP6RA SNC committed in these responses to replace the four transmitters marked by an asterisk

(*) during the Unit i Spring 1994 and Unit 2 Fall 1993 refueling outages.

Recent reviews have revealed that four transmitters were omitted from the above referenced responses. The transmitters omitted by these responses were:

  • 2NS Function Model QlN23FT3229B ~

AuxiliaryFeedwater Flow 1154DP6RA -

QlN23FT3229C AuxiliaryFeedwaterFlow 1154DP6RA 1

Q2N23FT3229B AuxiliaryFeedwaterFlow 1154DP6RA

.l Q2N23FT3229C AuxiliaryFeedwater Flow 1154HP6RA -

The records for the past several~ calibrations of these transmitters have been reviewed.

This review has indicated that Q1N23FT3229B has exhibited symptoms'ofoilloss. A follow up calibration was performed for Q1N23FT3229B. The test results show no concera 3r loss ~

of fill oil. It is SNC's intent to replace these four transmitters (with either a Rim..a ant transmitter manufactured after July 11,1989 or a different manufacturer's transmitter) at the i

earliest possible opportunity and when replacements are available. Until replacement of these transmitters can be accomplished, enfanced monitoring on a refueling outage basis will be performed.
