PILGRIM (SMTP Id#: 21312)
TAD:
Apparently Jane Fleming committed me to provide questions in advance of the meeting at Pilgrim.
I think you know the majority of questions I will be asking but to provide you more details, please review the questions in my recent letters to John Z.
related to generic issues, 10 CFR 100, NUGEG 1353, NUREG 0933 and please be prepared to clarify Cowgill's statements with respect to safety and economics.
You may also want to review the utility's responsibilities with respect to indentifed safety concerns and if they or the NRC has the primary responsibility for these issues.
I don't expect answers such as "our only concern is the safety of the public" and "for all design bases accidents the plant is within Part 100 limits."
I would like the NRC to address how economics olays a role in regulation.
Of course there will also be questions on Pilgrim's fix of the condensate pots and their operability determinations.
You may also want to review my letter to SECY dated April 30, 1995.
Also review my letter to Mr.Z. dated 3/29/95.
Good luck with your homework assignment.
Looking forward to our meeting again CC:
