Georgia Power Conpany submits the following information in response to IEB 83-06, concerning nonconforming materials supplied by Tube-Line Corporation.
In response to Action Item 1 of the reference bulletin, we have reviewed the lists of purchasing and receiving companies given in Attachments 2 and 3 Ittis review disclosed - that Tube-Line materials have been to the bulletin.
furnished for use at Plant Hatch.
Action Item 2.a.
requested, for operating plants, a list of Tube-Line materials which' are not yet installed in safety-related systems.
The following response is provided:
Consolidated Pipe and Supply provided the following materials:
( 1) 8"x16" stainless steel reducer
( 1) 10"x18" stainless steel reducer
.C @itol Pipe and Steel provided the following materials:
( 1) Piece 6"x3" 540 LR 90 degree elbow SA234 WPB heat code #EGX (12) Pieces 4" 540 CAP SA234 WPB heat code #EUYC IUB Imorporated provided the following materials:
( 4) Pieces 10" SCH 10 LR 90 degree elbow WP304-W Action Item 2.a.
further requested identification of safety-related systems in which these materials would be installed. None of the materials listed above will be used in safety-related systems.
All items have been placed under a quality control hold' and will be evaluated for use in nonsafety-related systems only.

requested a list of Tube-Line materials that had previously been installed in safety-related systens.
One such item was provided by Capitol Pipe and Steel and installed in the Plant Service Water
- (PSW). System - in the strainer backwash system located at the intake structure.. This was a 6"x3" 540 IF 90 degree elbow SA234 heat code IEGX.
Pursuant to Action. Item 3.b., an evaluation was performed to determine the suitability of installed Tube-Line materials for intended service.
The result of our evaluation was, for this particular installation in the PSW strainer backwash system, that no safety or e.perability problems would be posed by allowing the material to rerain in place.
This coupletes our response to IEB 83-06. Please contact this office if further information is required.
