Dear.Mr. Stolz:

This letter confirms the meeting that was held in our offices on September 23, 1983 and attended by Philadelphia Electric, Bechtel, NRC, and Franklin Research Center personnel (see Attachment I).

.At the meeting, Philadelphia Electric and Bechtel presented information regarding the torus attached piping at Peach Bottom which completes the Mark I activities for Peach Bottom. The specific items discussed at the meeting were the following:

1.

Scope of analyses and the components evaluated 2.

Loading Combinations 3.

Analysis Methods 4.

Acceptance Criteria 5.

Conclusions 6.

Modifications Required All modifications for Unit 3 have been completed. The only Unit 3 activities remaining are the completion of equipment nozzle evaluations and as-built reconciliation of the modifications. Work on Unit 2 modifications is in progress and will be completed by the end of the next refueling outage (currently scheduled to start February 20, 1984).

A preliminary copy of the addendum to the Plant Unique Analysis Report covering the torus attached piping has been informally transmitted to your Mr. H. Shaw. 2ne rinal report will be transmitted after the Unit 2 modifications are completed. Submittal of the final report is tentatively scheduled for June, 1984.

At the conclusion of the meeting, your Mr. H. Shaw summarized the NRC's position as follows:

All the NRC's questions regarding the Mark I program and torus attached ~ piping had been answered.

It is recognized that the final report would be subnitted af ter all modifications and evaluations are completed.
