Dear Mr. Denton:

ULNRC-697 DOCKET NUMBER 50-483 CALLAWAY PLANT, UNIT 1 AMENDMENT TO OPERATING LICI:NSE APPLICATION ULNRC-326 dated October 19, 1979, transmitted an amend-ment to the Union Electric Company Application dated April 30, 1974.

The amendment included, in part, the Operating License Application (general information required by 10 CFR 50.33).

In anticipation of receiving an operating license for Callaway Plant, Unit 1, in April, 1984, Union Electric Company is

. requesting that this license be issued for a term of forty years, commencing from the date of the issuance of the operating license, rather than the date of tho Construction Permit.

We note that the Commission.has. honored similar requests in the issuance of the LaSalle Plant and the St. Lucie 2 Plant Opera-

. ting Licenses.

We have included this request in the attached 4

revision to our Application along with other changes to update the document.

Furnished herewith are nineteen (19) copies of Revision 1 to the Callaway-Operating License Application.

Please replace the revised pages in your copies of the Application.

Very truly yours, 8312150125 031202 PDR ADOCK 05000483 P
