We have reviewed Generic Letter 83-37 and have determined that the following revisions to the Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No.1 Technical Specifications are applicable:
1)
Revise Specification 3.3.3.7, Chlorine Detection Systems, to require two operable detectors.
2)
Revise Table 3.3-11 and 4.3-7, Accident Monitoring Instrumentation, to include the following instruments:
a)

Incorporate a new Administrative Controls Section 6.8.4, to require a Post-accident Sampling Program be established, implemented and maintained.
4)
Revise Specification 3.6.4.1, Hydrogen Analyzers, for applicability to the wide range instruments.
We will forward the above changes in a request for Technical Speci-fication change following OSC and ORC review.
The generic letter also recommends that we submit a request for Technical Specification change to incorporate the Reactor Coolant Gaseous Vent System (RCGVS) Specification within 30 days.
We requested (letter dated August 25, 1983) and we understand that the NRC is presently in the process of granting an eighteen month schedular exemption to allow 8312130305 831207 PDR ADOCK 05000334 P

Page Two an extension of the previous deadline for operability of the RCGVS.
Since the RCGVS will not be required until the end of the eighteen month exemption period we will delay submittal of the proposed Technical Specification change until operation of the system has been evaluated and corrected. This is currently scheduled for com-pletion ~during the fourth refueling outage.
Very truly yours, J.
