Saccomando letter to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission dated February 13, 1995, transmitting a Proposed Technical Specification Amendment for Increase Interim Plugging Criteria for Braidwood and Byron Unit 1 I

In the reference letter, Commonwealth Edison Company (Comed) submitted an application for 3 volt Interim Plugging Criteria (IPC) for the Byron and Braidwood Unit 1 steam generators.

We understand that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is currently reviewing this amendment request and at this time there still remain issues that need to be resolved prior to Staff approval.

In the event that the request for a 3 volt IPC is not approved prior to the Braidwood Unit 1 Fall refueling outage, Braidwood will be submitting a Technical Specification amendment request to renew their current 1 volt IPC for Cycle 6.

We understand through conversations with the Staff that receipt of the 1 volt amendment request by mid-August would provide an adequate amount of time for NRC review and approval for the Fall outage.
