This request is for relevant information held by the Nuclear Regulatory Agency regarding the below-listed topics.
Five business days from the receipt of this request is typically considered appropriate response time for such matters.
If for any reason the information requested is not available, pleases provide a written response citing reasons, to include applicable legal justification if necessary.
Documents, microfilm, electronic and magnetic media and anything not mentioned specifically here due to technicalignorance are to be included under this request.
Please provide access to the following public information:
- Any information concerning the loaning of two tons of Uranium to West Virginia University, local bureaus of the Department of Energy or Atomic Energy Commission, or local aspects of the Nuclear Regulatory Agency sometime prior to 1965. It has been cited the University was loaned two tons of Uranium by the Atomic Energy Commission sometime prior to 1960.
- Any information on regulation and control of Uranium or any other radioactive materials on the campus of West Virginia University during the time period of 1950 to the present. It is known the University has had at least two to three pounds of Uranium as late as 1972 through NRC information.
- Any information on regulation and control of experiments with nuclear or radioactive materials on the campus of West Virginia University by any Agency at any time between 1945 and the present.
- Any information on results of experiments performed with nuclear materials on the campus of West Virginia University, to include uranium and all of its isotopes, cobalt sources, neutron-emitting sources or any radioactive materials not specifically mentioned here.
- Any information regarding the above requests not specifically mentioned due to ignorance of technical matters surrounding the subject.
