Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
I.E.Bulletin 83-06, entitled " Nonconforming Materials Supplied By Tube-Line Corporation Facilities at Long Island City, New York; Houston, Texas; and Carol Stream, Illinois," requested each licensee to determine whether any Tube-Line supplied materials have been procured for use in safety related applications.
In accordance with this request, Alabama Power Company has conducted a review of procurement documentation for the Farley Nuclear Plant - Units 1 and 2.
As a result of this review, it was determined that no materials supplied directly by Tube-Line Corporation have been procured or utilized in either Unit 1 or 2 of Farley Nuclear Plant in safety related applications.
In addition, Alabama Power Company contacted all vendors who may have included Tube-Line components in safety-related equipment sold to Alabama Power Company. These vendors have informed Alabama Power Company that based upon their evaluation, none of this equipment included Tube-Line components.
A total of approximately 690 manhours were expended in the preparation of this response.
