Subject:

Detroit Edison Interim Report Response to NRC IE Bulletin 83-06

Dear Mr. Keppler:

In response to the subject bulletin request, we hereby submit the following interim report on Detroit Edison's investigation for the determination of the existence of Tubeline products at the Enrico Fermi II site.

To date Project Quality Assurance for the Enrico Fermi Power j

Plant, Unit 2, have reviewed more than ninety percent of the records of site contractors and have found no evidence of Tubeline products.

Review of the Edison purchase order files produced a list of ninety-two purchase orders to companies listed in IE Bulletin 83-06.

Of these, sixty-nine are to Westinghouse and are most probably for electrical, rather than mechanical, items. An in-depth review will be made, however,of the product descriptions and any documentation received. Also, we have received a letter from General Electric, San Jose, declaring no Tubeline products were supplied to Enrico Fermi 2 in General Electric supplied equipment or spares to date.

A final report will be submitted by February 1, 1984.

Should you require additional information from Detroit Edison in this matter, please advise us.

8312010163 831122 Very truly yours, PDR ADOCK 05000341 PDR
