Dear Mr. Russell:
IES Utilities Inc. has made changes to the Duane Arnold Energy-Center (DAEC)
Security Plan to correct some discrepancies identified in the NRC review of Security Plan Change No.
31 (Reference) and to incorporate other miscellaneous changes.
These changes to the Security Plan have been made pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(p).
These changes are reflected in Security Plan Change Number 32 (SPC-32) and have been reviewed in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(p).
We have determined that none of the changes decreases the safeguards effectiveness of the Security Plan.
A description of the changes and a copy of our evaluation is attached.
As specified in 10 CFR 50.4, we are sending the signed original and three copies, with four sets of attachments.
In addition, two copies of the letter and attachments are being provided to the Region III office.
WHEN SEPARATED FROM THE ENCLOSURE, HANDLE THIS DOCUMENT AS DECONTROLLED.
