Final Reports of State and Local Offsite Plans and Preparedness for Cooper Nuclear Station Attached for your information are (1) the Final Report, Evaluation of the March 10, 1982, Exercise for Radiological Accidents at Cooper Nuclear Station; (2) Final Report, Evaluation of the April 6,1983, Exercise for Radiological Accidents at Cooper Nuclear Station; and (3) the Addendum to the Final Report for the Cooper Nuclear Station Exercise of April 6, 1983. The Addendum updates the resolution of deficiencies from the 1982 and 1983 joint exercises of State and local offsite plans and preparedness for the Cooper Nuclear Station. These three documents were prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region VII Office.
Based upon these two exercises and their positive evaluation by FEMA Region VII, FEMA concludes at this time that a reasonably adequate level of radiological preparedness has been demonstrated to protect the public in the event of a radiological accident at the Cooper Nuclear Station.
These final exercise reports and supporting Addendum are provided for your use until FEMA can complete formal review of offsite plans and preparedness in accordance with the FEMA rule, 44 CFR 350.
