Detection of Deficiencies in Quality Resulting from Fraudulent Actions by Suppliers On September 12, 1983, you wrote expressing concern regarding possible deficiencies in quality resulting from fraudulent activities by equipment suppliers. The purpose of this letter is to inform you that I share your concern.
Vermont Yankee has initiated a comprehenisve review of its existing Quality Assurance Program in response to I&E Bulletins 83-06 and 83-07. The goal of this review is to identify potential improve-ments in the programmatic controls for vendor selection and product acceptance to assure that the fraudulent practices concern is effec-tively addressed by Vermont Yankee as well as its vendors and their Any suitable programmatic improvements identified as a suppliers.
result of this review will be incorporated into existing practices and procedures for the procurement of items and services governed by 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B, Quality Assurance Criteria for Nuclear Power Plants and Fuel Reprocessing Plants.
