CHANGE 95-09, " EXTENSION OF ICE CONDENSER SURVEILLANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR UNIT ONE CYCLE SEVEN"

NRC letter to TVA dated January 3,1995, " Issuance of Amendment (TAC NO. M90781) (TS 94-17)"

In accordance with 10 CFR 50.90, we are enclosing an amendment to License DPR-77 to change the SON Unit 1 TSs. The proposed change will revise Operating Condition 2.C.(25) to add the extension of ice condenser Surveillance 4.6.5.1.d to October 1,1995. This is an addition to the extensions approved by NRC in the referenced letter and will support operation of Unit 1 to the scheduled refueling outage date.

The proposed operating license change is identified in Enclosure 1. The justification for the proposed change is provided in Enclosure 2. A proposed determination of no significant safety hazards consideration performed pursuant to 10 CFR 50.92 is provided in Enclosure 3.

~3urveillance 4.6.5.1.d will exceed the allowable extension of 25 percent provided by TS 4.0.2 on September 5,1995. TVA requests approval of the proposed revision before September 1995 to allow continued operation of Unit 1 until the Cycle 7 refueling outage scheduled for October 1,1995.
