C. 20555 This special report is submitted in accordance with LaSalle Unit 1 and 2 Operating Ucenses NPF-11 and NPF-18, Appendix A, and Technical Specification Sections 3.3.7.9 and 6.6.c.

Table 3.3.7.9-1 of Technical Specification 3.3.7.9 requires a minimum number of fire detection instruments to be operable. On March 1,1995, at 0001 hours1.157407e-5 days <br />2.777778e-4 hours <br />1.653439e-6 weeks <br />3.805e-7 months <br />, the minimum number of required operable detectors for Fire Detection Zones 1-26 and 2-26 had not been maintained, thereby exceeding the 14-day timeciock allowed by the Technical Specification.

These Fire Detection Zones are located on the Refuel Floor at elevation 843-6", Fire Hazard Zone Area 1.

Fire Detection Zones 1-26 and 2-26 were taken out of service to prevent spurious alarms caused by work activities being performed in the area during the Unit 2 Refueling Outage.

Per the Action Statement requirements of Technical Specification 3.3.7.9, a Fire Watch was established to inspect the affected fire detection zones once every hour while the detectors are inoperable. Detecbon Zones 1-26 and 2-26 will be retumed to service upon completion of the Refuel Floor work activities associated with the Unit 2 Refuel Outage.

This Special Report is required since the detectors were not restored to an operable status within 14 days.
