UNIT 2 DOCKET NO. 50 446 AMBIENT TEMPERATURE EFFECTS ON HSIV ACTUATORS SDAR: CP 87-19 (SUPPLEMENTAL REPORT)

Gentlemen:

On January 18, 1988 TU Electric notified the NRC via Final Report logged TXX-88104 of deficiencies involving safety related valve actuators attached to the Hain Steam Isolation Valves.

On June 1, 1988. TV Electric submitted a Supplemental Report logged TXX 88487 which stated that the actuators would be reworked on site rather than in the vendor's facility.

Three'of the four actuators involved have been shipped to a vendor for rebuild and moF.fication.

The fourth actuator is currently undergoing partial reassembly on site, under vendor direction.

Final reassembly and modification will be performed at the vendor facility.

The actuators will be received on site and inspected in time to support Unit 2 hrt functional testing.

Sincerely, h

4f William J. Cahill, Jr.
