Dr. Murley:
In accordance with the requirements of 10CFR50.71(e), Commonwealth Edison hereby submits the annual FSAR update for Quad Cities Units 1 and 2.
The revision contains information for both units since Units 1 and 2 have a common FSAR.
The UFSAR has been prepared in accordance with guidance provided by the May 9, 1980 Federal Register Notice and Reference (a).
Consistent with that guidance, this update has been prepared in the original FSAR format with the original level of detail.
No attempt has been made to revise the format or content to conform with the recommendations contained in Regulatory Guide 1.70.
Commonwealth Edison has applied its established procedures to id.ntify the information required to be submitted for this revision, including modifications to the facility as described in the UFSAR that have been made since the last submittal (Reference (b)),
In our judgment, the information provided accurately presents those changes made since the previous submittal which are necessary to reflect information and analyses submitted to the NRC, and that all changes requiring NRC approval have been reviewed by the NRC.
For all other changes, there are safety evaluations on-site to document the Station's determination that prior NRC approval was not required.

Attachment A contains a brief description of the basis for the change; Attachment B provides direction for the replacement of pages; and, Attachment C contains the updated pages.
In accordance with the regulations, future revisions to the UFSAR will continue to be provided on an annual basis.
In accordance with 10 CFR 50.71 (e)(2)(ii), Commonwealth Edison has identified those changes which have been implemented under the provisions 10 CFR 50.59 but not oreviously reported to the Cc,inmission. contains a summary of the safety evaluation which have not been previously reported to the Commission. All remaining 1990 safety evaluations were previously reported to the Commission in a monthly report in accordance with 10 CFR 50.59(b)(2).
To the best of my knowledge and belief, the submitted changes to the UFSAR are true and correct.
In some respects these statements are not based on my personal knowledge but upon information furnished in the regular course of business by otner Commonwealth Edison employees.
Such information has been reviewed in accordance with Company pra:tice and I believe it to be reliable.
Ia accordance with the requirements of 10CFR50.71(e), one signed original and ten (10) additional copies of the UFSAR revisions are provided.
