LILCO's View on Where the July 23,1991 Ihhearing Conference Should be IIeld On June 4,1991, the Shoreham Wading River Central School District and Scientists and Engineers for Secure Energy asked this Board to move the prehearing conference now scheduled for July 23, 1991, from Hauppauge, New York to "the Washington, D.C. area."
After -
considering the pertinent factors, LILCO believes that the conference can appropriately occur-
--either on Long Island or in the Washington area. Thus, like the NRC Staff, LILCO takes no position on this motion.

2 If there were to be evidentiary hearings, however, LILCO's views on venue will be different. We see no compelling reason m hold hearings anywhere but on long Island, if hearings must in fact be held.
