Dear Mr. Borchardt:

t To expedite the NRC AP600 Design Certification review, Enclosure 1 is an advance copy of several chapters of Revision 3 of the AP600 Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) Report. The enclosure

. contains an evaluation of conditional human error pro ab bility calculations in support of DSER open item 19.l.3.1-17, a complete requantification of the Level i PRA to include the conditional human l crror probabilities, and a requantification of the Level 2 and 3 PRA based on the Level 1 PRA results.

Revision 3 will also contain the instrumentation and control system chapters and the results chapter.

The enclosure is in the form of replacement pages for the Level 1 PRA chapters and in the form of new chapters for the Level 2 and 3 PRA. Included with each set are change page instructions. Four sets of this advance copy of Revision 3 to the PRA have been sent to Mr. Tom Kenyon.

Enclosure 2 of this letter is revision 1 of WCAP-13275, AP600 Probabilistic Risk Assessment Fault Trees. This WCAP contains the at-power conditions fault trees used in Revisions 2 and 3 of the AP600 PRA. Ten copies of WCAP-13275 have been sent to Mr. Tom Kenyon.

The Westinghouse Electric Corporation copyright notice, proprietary information notice, application for

% withholding and affidavit are attached.

This submittal contains Westinghouse proprietary information consisting of trade secrets, commercial information or financial information which we consider privileged or confidential pursuant to 10CFR9.17(a)(4). Therefore, it is requested that the Westinghouse proprietary information attached hereto be handles on a confidential basis and be withheld from public disclosures.

This material is for your internal use only and may be used for the purpose for which it is submitted, It should not be otherwise used, disclosed, duplicated, or disseminated, in whole or in part, to any E other person or organi7.ation outside the Commission, the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research and the necessary subcontractors that have signed a proprietary -

In order to conform to the requirements of 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations concerning the protection of proprietary information so submitted to the NRC, the information which is proprietary in the proprietary versions is contained within brackets, and where the proprietary information has been deleted in the :an-proprietary versions, only the brackets remain (the information that was contained within the brackets in the proprietary versions having been deleted). The justification for claiming the information so designated as proprietary is indicated in both versions by means of lower case letters (a) through (f) contained within parentheses located as a superscript immediately following the brackets enclosing each item of information being identified as proprietary or in the margin opposite such information. These lower case letters refer to the types of information Westinghouse customarily holds in confidence identified in Section (4)(ii)(a) through (4)(ii)(f) of the affidavit accompanying this transmittal pursuant to 10 CFR2.790(b)(1).
