lilinois Powers (IP) Safety Evaluations of Certain Installations of Thermo-Lag

Dear Sir:

Provided for information are copies of the safety evaluttions prepared by IP to addrere seven of the eleven installations of Thermo-Lag at Clinton Power Station (CPS).

They are being fonvarded per the request ofMr. Doug Pickett, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC) Project Manager of CPS. These safety evaluations were prepared in accordance with 10CFR50.59 and the evaluation results determined that no unreviewed safety questions existed. The performance of the seven evaluations are consistent with the authority allowed by 10CFR50.59 and the CPS Operating License Condition 2.F.

4 These safety evaluations were reviewed by NRC Messrs. Doug Pickett and Dave Hills on Januay 25 and 26,1995.
