Dear Mr. Denton:
The referenced letter requested Illinois' Power Company (IP) to provide a quarterly update concerning the Clinton Unit I construction schedule.
As of September 30, 1983, the target date for Unit I fuel load remains at January 3, 1986, with commercial operation scheduled for November 1, 1986.
On October 14, 1983 IP officially, announced the cancella-tion of Clinton Unit 2.
The decision was based on electrical sales projections indicating that after^Clinton Unit I is com-pleted no additional generating units will be needed until the 1990s.
m We will continue to submit quarterly updates of the Unit I construction schedule.
