Dear Sir:

The Authority submitted a schedule for our FitzPatrick drawing update program via Reference 1.

The goal of the drawing update program is to update controlled plant drawings by incorporating previously installed plant modifications.

In addition, modifications will be field verified, as required.

In Reference 2 you requested that we provide a progress report including a schedule for the balance of the update work, and a description of our program for the continued maintenance of as-built drawings.

This letter is the Authority's response to your request.

Progress Report The schedule submitted with Reference 1 detailed the work scope for 1983.

Drawings for safety related systems were given first priority.

As of December 10, 1983 approximately 90% of the work on that schedule has been completed including field verification and drawing revision.

A total of 140 modifications have been verified and 102 modifications closed.

" In addition, some progress has been made on modifications not on the schedule included with Reference 1.

Attachment No. 1 details our progress for those systems originally scheduled for 1983 and summarizes the 1984 scope of work.

1984 Schedule Attachment No. 2 is the 1984 schedule for une FitzPatrick drawing update program.

This schedule d> fines the scope of work for 1984 including work not completed from the 1983 schedule, updating drawings for non-safety related systems not scheduled in 1983, modifications installed during the recent refueling outage, and Mark I program torus modifications.

Maintenance Program Procedures covering drawing maintenance have been prepared and implemented.

Under these new procedures, controlled-plant drawings will be updated, as applicable, after the modification has been installed and verified.

If you have any questions, please contact Mr. J. A. Gray, Jr. of my staff.

Very truly yours, f

k
