- e ATTACHMENT I SUPPLEMENTARY RESPONSE ~TO APPENDIX A - ITEM A
- A subsequent. review of the corrective action stated in the original response found that not all the inspections for which the subject Quality Control Inspector was responsible were re-inspected.
~
X The resident inspector was informed of this condition on August 10, 1983 by telecon.
A re-review has 'been conducted and additional safety related structural steel welds ~ have been identified for which the subject QC Inspector performed final inspections. The accessible welds were re-inspected Tdth one additional deficiency being identified and dispositioned.
In-
' accessible welds were evaluated by engineering and determined to be acceptable based on rationale such as; structure is adequate without the weld;- or, the weld was actually-only f or construction purposes.
Complete records of the re-review, re-inspections, disposition of the deficiency, and evaluation of the inaccessible welds are available on
- site.
Further reviews of welding records in safety related areas other than structural steel were also undertaken.
Instances where the subject inspector performed final weld ' inspection on electrical raceway and piping and preliminary weld inspections on pipe hangers were identified.
In these areas the welds were re-inspected (if they had not; already.been -
re-inspected as part of the final' hanger weld inspection procedures) and any. deficiencies were dispositioned. Records of these activities are available 'on site.
In. conclusion, based on the above work, we have fully effected the
- corrective action stated in the original response.
