Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 Core Reload Methodology This letter transmits GPU Nuclear Topical Report TR-091, Revision 0, " Steady State Reactor Physics Methodology for THI-1," for NRC review and approval for use in TMI-l core reload evaluations. The CASM0-3/ SIMULATE-3 code package is to be used for calculating TMI-1 nuclear physics data for in-house GPU Nuclear core reload design. This report addresses the application of CAMS 0-3 and SIMULATE-3 computer codes in modeling TMI-1 cores and compares the results to actual plant operations data, thus demonstrating GPU Nuclear's capability to use these models in performing in-house physics analysis.
GPU Nuclear is planning to utilize in-house core reload design methods for the TMI-l Cycle 12 core design. Cycle 12 core design activities are scheduled to commence April 1996 to support the Cycle 12 startup in October 1997. Three (3) remaining Topical Reports addressing GPU Nuclear in-house reload design methods for THI-l will be submitted by April 1995.
