Dear Mr. Paperiello:

Reference (a) cited above lists two Open Items "...to incorpor-ate multiplet analysis into AAIS...".

(0 pen Items 50-254/82-13-03 and 50-265/82-15-03.)

These Open Items are part of a multitask project developed by Commonwealth Edison to enhance the performance of AAIS.

As outlined in the Reference (b), Task 1 " Multiplet Resolution and Peak Classification" addresses these Open Items.

Work on this task is in progress and on schedule.

Task 1 will be completed by July 2, 1984 in accordance with the schedule presented in Reference (d).

Completion of Task 1 will close out the Open Items.

Recognizing the need to improve the analytical sof tware of AAIS, three additional tasks were developed by Commonwealth Edslon to enhance spectral analysis.

Again, these tasks are further improvements which go beyond the concerns raised by the NRC and are presented here only for your information.

As outlined in Reference (c), they are:

Task 2:

Ef ficiency Calibration with Associated Uncertainties.

Completion and Implement by:
