Summary Description of the Proposed Vehicle Control Measues as Required by 10 CFR 73.55(cX7)

This letter is submitted in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 73.55(cX9)(i) to confirm to the Commission that the vehicle control measures requimd by 10 CFR 73.55(cX7) will be met. The vehicle control measures were compared to the design goals and criteria as required by 10 CFR 73.55(cX8) and show that the control measures will meet the design goals and criteria specified.

L The placement and installation of the passive and active barriers will-exceed the minimum safe standoff distances as defined in NUREC/CR-6190, Volume 1, Section 3 and Section 5. No further analysis of the placement of the barriers has been performed.

The enclosure to this letter contains:

o The details of the Passive and Active Vehicle Barrier System (VBS).

o The location of Vital equipment and safe standoff distances.

o A site drawing depicting the distances of Vital equipment to the VBS, the Protected Area barrier and the proposed VBS.

10 CFR Section 73.21 provides that correspondence and reports to or from the NRC which relate to the physical protection of power reactors, including the information enumerated in subsections (b)(1)(i) through '

(xiii) of 10 CFR 73.21, are to be protected from unauthorized disclosure.

In accordance with these requirements, we therefore understand that the attached will not be placed in the Public Document Room and will receive limited distribution.
