Consumets Power Company Generet offices: 1945 West Parnell Road, Jackson, k'! 49201 * (517) 788-0550 August 26, 1983 James G Keppler, Administrator Region III US Nuclear Regulatory Commission 799 Roosevelt Road Glen Ellyn, IL 60137-DOCKET 50-255 - LICENSE DPR PALISADES PLANT - AMENDED RESPONSE TO IE INSPECTION REPORT 83-01 IE Inspection Report No 50-255/83-01 dated February 22, 1983 identified one item of noncompliance to which a response was required. The item of non-compliance pertained to a failure to maintain a controlled copy of the plant technical specifications in accurate revision status. Consumers Power Company's response to the item of noncompliance was provided in our letter dated March 18, 1983.
The purpose of this letter is to amend our previous response. Whereas it was stated in our March 18, 1983 letter that correct revisions are now in place and that full compliance has been achieved; in fact, a surveillance of Techni-cal Specification manuals performed by our Quality Assurance Department on April 27, 1983 showed that correct revisions other than that identified by the NRC Inspector were not in place. This problem was immediately corrected.
Subsequent to QA surveillance, we have taken the following corrective action to prevent recurrence:
I 1)
A new List of Effective Pages for Technical Specifications was completed.
2)
The new List was issued to all copy holders of Technical Specifications to ascertain correct revision status.
j 3)
The Plant General Manager issued a letter stressing the importance of maintaining controlled copies and a statement to that effect has been included on the document revision transmittal sheet.

The comprehensive List of Effective Pages (or the revised portion there-of) is now required to be issued each time a Technical Specification revision is made.
