Morris NEW INFORMATION CONTENTION BY AIR & WATER POLLUTION PATROL (ROMANO)
A new contention involving threat to the health and welfare from the operation of the Limerick nuclear reactor has just come to the attention of the Air & Water Pollution Patrol (Romano).
AWPP con-tends that certain components in the Limerick nuclear reactors heat exchange system, involving cooling water going into the Schuylkill Rive ~r, are shedding particulate asbestos fibers to contaminate drink-ing water used by possibly a million people in Montgomery County and Philadelphia.
Further, asbestos fibers from degradation of splash bars in-side the cooling towers will result in the discharging of asbestos fibers into the atmosphere via the air & water released from the top of the Limerick towers.
Asbestos has been found to be a high cancer risk material and has been designated a hazzardous substance by the EPA.
As such all of Montgomery County and surrounding areas, depend-ing on the wind, will be subject, as will I, my family, and members of AWPP and the public.
I ask the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board to admit my conten-tion in the public safety interest.
Very truly yours, T
WATE UTION PATROL e-Fr R.
