Revision to the Response to Inspection Report.50-298/93-26
Reference:
NPPD Response to Inspection Report 50-298/93-26 (Reply to a Notice of Violation) dated January 28, 1994 Gentlemen:
The purpose of this letter is to revise one of the corrective actions delineated in-the above reference.
The reference contains the following action under " Corrective Steps Taken and' Results Achieved":
CNS Procedure 6.4.5.2.12, " Fire Door Annual Inspection,"'was revise'd to specifically identify-those doors which' form either the control room isolation, or the secondary containment, envelope.
By this l'etter, the above action is being clarified further to read as follows:
CNS Procedure 6.4.5.2'.12, " Fire Door Annual Inspection," has been revised to indicate those doors which are " Essential" and therefore form part of the control room isclation envelope or secondary containment.
The reason for revising the corrective action taken is to specifically identify the=
control room isolation and secondary containment envelope doors as " Essential" instead of providing a specific ~ reference to their function in CNS Procedure 6 ':.5.2.12.
The revised wording that presently exists in the procedure would prevent any failure to recognize these doors as " Essential" during maintenance activities.
1 This revision results in neither a reduction in commitment nor a change in scope and-
)
intent of the original corrective action presente?.ln the reference.
