- 1. During the six (6) month period ending December 31,1994 Northem States Power Company conducted (1,104) drug and alcohol tests in accordance with 10 CFR Part 26.
NSP workers subject to random drug and alcohol testing are each assigned to one of three pools: Prairie Island, Monticello, and General Office. Random test rates for each pool are as follows:

For the reporting period ending December 31,1994, seven (7)_ workers tested positive for drugs or alcohol and were immediately denied unescorted access to NSP Nuclear Plants.
Of this group, one (1) worker having tested positive lor Marijuana on a random was retumed to duty after NSP had obtained management and medicel assurance of fitness for duty and the worker had met NSP access authorization requirements.
- 2. For the semi-annual period referenced herein all blind specimens submitted to NSP's HHS-certified laboratory yielded expected results.
- 3. NSP has analyzed program performance data for the six (6) month period ending December 31,1994 and has revised existing FFD procedures to incorporate enhancements as indicated by the analysis.

department communicated this change to the NRC as required by 10 CFR Part 26,-
Appendix A, by letter dated September 22,1994.'

i NSP performed (835) drug tests under the lower initial cut-off level for Marijuana.
i NSP had one (1) positive test for marijuana following implementation of the new cut-j j
off. The ng/mi level for this test exceeded both the 50 ng/mi and 100 ng/mi initial cut-off '
levels.'
