Summary of Plant Operations During the period January 1, 1983 through June 30, 1983 the reactor was critical for 3695 hours0.0428 days <br />1.026 hours <br />0.00611 weeks <br />0.00141 months <br /> and the energy generated was 36305 MWH.
All reactor operations were routine and uneventful.
A program for modernization of the Reactor Console is continuing.

Unscheduled Shutdowns There were two unscheduled shutdowns during this reporting period.
1-13-83 Manual scram when operator struck the Scram button while opening a recorder door to mark chart. Returned to power immediately.
3-23-83 Low flow Scram during commercial power interruption.
Returned to power immediately.

Tabulation of Major Items of Plant Maintenance 1.
Replaced Reg Rod with spare unit.
2.
Reset #1 Shim Arm clutch gap.
3.
Replaced drive gear in #3 Shim Arm Indication Unit.
4.
Installed new bearings in #1 primary pump motor.
5.
Replaced MCP Motor #4 with MCP Motor #1.
6.
Changed diaphragm (twice) on DWV-184.
7.
Replaced orfice plate low predsure sensing line of FIA-5 (purification flow instrument).

Installed vacuum system and filter on fuel cutting saw.
9.
Repalced piping between COV-1 and COV-2.
- 10. Removed KWV-13 Air Operator Valve (replaced in July 83).
- 11. Changed resin in Thermal Shield #1 I.X. and #2 I.X.

- 13. Adjusted #2 Cooling Tower fan motor vibration switch.
- 14. Replaced bearings in EF-3.
- 15. Replaced batteries on Diesel Generator "A".
- 16. Replaced time delay relay on #4 Secondary Pump.
- 17. Replaced Amplifier & recalib. TIA-40A.
- 18. Replaced Amplifier in Ph recorder
- 19. Reseated shunt pin connection on NC-3 and 4 to correct remote console indication.
- 20. Replaced Square Root extractor on BTUR system.
- 21. Repaired Amplifier on Ucrmal Air Monitor Channel.
- 22. Re'=librated Heat Exchanger outlet temperature channel (TIA-4).
- 23. Repaired Storage Pool Cooling Water Flow Transmitter (FIA-13)
Calibrated Channel.
- 24. Calibrated Storage Pool Ion Exchanger Flow Channel (FIA-14).
- 25. Replaced Amplifier to Console Readout (RM3-5).
- 26. Replaced Chart Drive Motor on AT recorder (TR-1).
- 27. Replaced wire nut connection with soldered connections on Cooling Tower controls (LIC-9).

Summary of Radioactive Material Released and Results of i
Environmental Surveys Performed.
Two hundred and ninety-five (295) curies of tritium and 267 curies of Argon-41 were released as gaseous waste, while 1.4 curies of tritium and 25 millicuries of other B-y emitters were released into the sanitary sewer.
Environmental samples of the streams, wells, vegetation and/or soil, and air showed no significant cha'nges.

No significant exposures were received by any visitor.
2.
One facility (non-operations) personnel received a significant exposure during this period of 1.70 rem.
