Dear Mr. DeYoung:
This is to provide an update on the referenced items which were reported in two letters dated April 29, 1983 and followed up on June 30, 1983.
A safe shutdown systems review has been completed on the Perry Nuclear Proj ect.
The purpose of the review was to assess system interaction to assure that automatic or manual start of support systems is provided.
Results of the review are:
o 18 systems required no design changes and no document changes.
o 21 systems required only minor corrections to documentation. None of these will result in hardware changes, o 9 systems required design changes. These involved the addition of relays and other wiring changes.
Two of the nine changes may hase been considered as potentially reportable under 10CFR21, had they not been discovered during the investigation and corrective action process for events already reported.
