Bulletin h3E-E2-01, R--I end Radiograph Feview at WNP-2 Site, Hanford, UA.
Dear Mr. Collins:
In accordance with the directions /in the subject bulletin, Lechtel personnel, at the WNT-2 site, revacwed all of the AP&E f urni shed radiographs for piping we36s one-half inch and 3 css in thickness where exposure was ma6e utilizing an asotope technicue.
We have been inf ormally advised that this review has turne6 up seven (7) welds where one or more f 3 In. have evidence of enhancement.
It appears that most of these can bc resolved by substituting our copy of the f i lni, which has not been enhanced an6 6oes have the required sensitivity, for the enhanced film in the field.
Although this may clear up most of the enhancement problem, it did reveal another area of concern which prompted this let t er pri or t t.

Irwin has been working outside the Radiographic Department Sr.
.or the past sev( rel months and was not working i n radiography during ycur original investigation.
Due to the enbar cement di scovery on t he WP-2 Project, I f eel t hat we w131 rieed to go back to the next previous contract, which was similar to the hWP-2 and 3 projects, SMUD, which c}osed out in early 1973 and review that film f or enhancement possibility since thin wa)) isotope iechnicues were cuite extensive on that contract.
I will be contacting' the 56cramento Municipa1 Utility Distriet per sonnel t o either have the radiographs returned to us for review or arrange to review them on location.
By a copy of this letter I am advising the Region V of fice of my actions.
I will keep you advised of the status of our revaev and the results when complete.
Please advise me immediately of any f urther inforn.ation you might need or if there is any f urther action I need to tehe.
