RE: WM. H. ZIMMER NUCLEAR POWER STATION - UNIT 1 10CFR50. 55 (e) , ITEM M-53 DEFECTIVE TORQUE SWITCHES IN LIMITORQUE OPERATORS W.O. 57300, JOB E-5590, FILE NO. 956C, M-53 This letter constitutes a follow-up to our final report, QA-2082, dated November 11, 1982 concerning the subject condition.

There has been no progress in completing the corrective action since our previous report, QA-2275, dated February 23, 1983. Installation of the subject switches is contingent upon the relaxation of the NRC November 12, 1982 " Order to Show Cause and Order Immediately Suspending Construction" for this work.

Upon this relaxation, a projected schedule for completion of the corrective action will be submitted.
