The January 30, 1984 press release announces the appointment of Mr. Robert P. Fasulo as Vice President of Administration for GPU Nuclear.

Mr. Fasulo succeeds Mr. Edwin E.

Kintner, whose announcement as GPU Nuclear Executive Vice President was made during the same presentation.

9 9-84N GPU NUCLEAR NAMES NEW VICE PRESIDENT FOR ADMINISTRATION Parsippany, NJ -- Robert P. Fasulo has been named vice president for administration of GPU Nuclear Corporation. He succeeds Edwin E. Kintner, who was named GPU Nuclear executive vice president last Noveirber.

Mr. Fasulo, whose appointment becomes effective February 6,1984, served from 1973-84 as deputy manager of the U.S. Department of Energy's Richland (Washington) Ope' rations Office.

In thaFposition, he was involved in the management of the production and disposal of nuclear materials. His career also has included management positions during an eight-year tenure with the U.S. Naval Reactors Program.

He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and has done graduate work at Notre Dame, Loyola of Chicago and in Department of Energy executive courses.

Mr. Laney is a consultant in nuclear and energy project management. He was deputy director of the Argonne National Lacoratory from 1972 to 1979 and was involved in the Naval Nuclear Prograin from 1948 to 1%0.

He nas broad executive and tecnnical experience in power. plant operation, in energy researen and development, in the construction and operatfan of large energy projects, and witn the complexities of bringing new energy processes into practical use.

His working experience includes extensive periods in operating power plants for tne u. S. Navy, in the Navy nuclear ruector program, in the construction industry, in Government, ano in energy research and development.

While an officer in tne Navy, Mr. Laney was a meeer of a small group of engineers cnosen by Aomtral H. G. Rickover to assist him in developing nuclear power plants for naval ship propulsion.

In 1970, ne turned to the development of more advances energy technologies when he was asked by the University of Chicago to become Associate Director of the Argonne National Laboratory, devoted to developing a range of new energy options. He was later appointed Deputy Directar with additional responsibility for total Laboratory 40 ministration.
