Dear Mr. Little:
INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-483/82-14 Ref: ULNRC-623 dated April 27, 1983 The purpose of this letter is to revise the date when full compliance will be achieved for Item of Noncompliance No. 82-14-Olb concerning the qualifications of fire doors.
Due to difficulties in obtaining replacement material from the vendor and construction turnaround time, it will not be possible to meet the expected completion date of July 1, 1983, as indicated in the referenced letter.
We now expect that doors 4/23 and 5/23 in the fire pump house will be installed by November 1, 1983.
Regarding door 33011 in the fuel building, technical conflicts have arisen due to the security door requirements of the fire door.
This matter is under discussion between Bechtel, Underwriters Laboratories, and the door manufacturer.
We will advise you of the resolution, and revised date when full compliance will be achieved when the problem has been resolved.
