50-296 IIROWNS PERRY NUCLEAR PLANT (11FN) - plIYSICAL SEPARATION OF INSTRUMI:NT SENSING LINES IN UNITS 1 AND 3 During a September 25, 1991 meeting on instrument sensing lines, NRC requested TVA confirm that the routing for the Unit 1 and 3 instrument panels / sensing lines was similar to Unit 2.
This question was raised when TVA indicated they planned to use the Unit 2 separation reviews, assumptions, and conclusions to resolve Unit I and 3 separation concerns.
TVA has determined, based on a review of IlFN drawings and documents, that safety-related instrument panels of Units 1, 2, and 3, and associated piping source connections / taps are physically located in similar or identical configurations. Ilased on the results of this review, TVA han concluded that the physical separation conclusions made for Unit 2 are valid to resolve Unit I and 3 separation concerns.
Supporting documentation is available en site for your review. This was the only outstanding NRC concern related to this issue.
