The program plan was developed using the guidanco contained in NUREG-1394, Revision 1 and information obtained at thf.

October 15, 1991 meeting with the NRC. The attached plans, ,

specific schedulo dates, and tasks may vary as the project is implomonted however, PSE&G oxpects to completo implementation by the rule duto of February 13, 1993.

1 ATTACllMENT ERDS PLAN AND SCIIEDULE

1. Software for providing ERDS data to the NRC from the Salem and flope Crook Generating Stations will be added to each plant's Safety Paramotel Display System (SPDS) Computers.

The Salom SPDS residos on GOULD/ ENCORE 87 Computers and the liopo Crook SPDS residos on GOULD/ ENCORE 97 Computers.

Therefore, all data transmitted to the NRC will como from one computer system at Salem and one corputer system at ilopo Crook (i.e., single fooders).

2. Emergency Plan Implomonting procedures will be modified to require ERDS to be activated as soon as possible within ono  ;

hour of the declaration of an Alert or highor omorgency classification level.

3. ERDS will be installed, testod, and maintained in accordance with PSE&G proceduro NC.NA-AP.ZZ-000B(Q), " Control of Design and Configuration Changes, Tests, and Experiments". In addition, PSE&G proceduro NC.NA-AP.ZZ-0064(Q), "Softwaro Quality Assurance" will be used as a guido for the design, development, verification, and validation of the ERDS software. The continued use of thoso procedures for future denign changes will ensure the integrity of the ERDS hardware and software configuration at each reactor unit.

NC.NA-AP.ZZ-0064(Q) has necessitated the development of System Requirements Documents (SRDs) for both SPDSs (Salem and flope Creek) . These SRDs will include sections stipulating ERDS requirements,-including the requirement to allow the NRC to review in advance proposed system modifications which could affect the ERDS data communication protocol. Reviewing the SRDs for impact to the ERDS during design chango devolopments (in accordanco with NC.NC-AP.ZZ-0008(Q)) will ensure that the modifications are compatible with the ERDS. The SRDs will also require that changos to the Data Point Librarios be submitted to the NRC within thirty days of the change, using the Data Point L Library Reference File Form from Appendix C of NUREG-1394, Revision 1.
